Summit microelectronics publishes two new components smb113a and smb117a that lock in high-power applicationsSummit microelectronics released two new components smb113a and smb117a that lock in high-power applications. The new products further expand its programmable power management chip series and provide easy-to-use, flexible and high-performance power supply design. By using summit's ppm chip, designers can digitally edit various multiple output power and related power management functions by simply clicking the mouse, without conventional analog hardware power design.Smb113a and smb114c integrate accurate power transmission and power control into a single, space-saving element. By integrating pulse width modulation (PWM) controller and power management function, the overall cost of the system can be saved without additional components. Summit's configurable technology can flexibly modify platform solutions according to different designs without changing any hardware, accelerating the time to market.

Smb113a and smb117a provide four identical PWM DC / DC step-down channel converters. The PWM channel can digitally program and monitor the output power, including the voltage output level, which is accurate to 1.5%. Smb113a operates at a switching frequency of 800KHz, and the transmission current can be as high as 10A or above.The input operating voltage of the two products ranges from 2.7V to 6V, and can also meet higher input voltage applications through simple configuration. Smb113a and smb117a supply both commercial version (0 70 ) and industrial version (- 40 85 ). Its programming is carried out through I2C bus, and the configuration data is stored in 96 byte nonvolatile EEPROM memory. The component can be programmed at development time, configured with "lock" or reconstructed through IIC interface.Smb113a and smb117a are suitable for increasingly complex consumer electronics and computer applications, such as RAID board, ADSL / cable modem / router, printer, DVD / MP3 portable media player / video recorder, global positioning system receiver, automobile / marine navigation system, high-resolution TV, LCD / TFT TV / display, digital video conversion box (STB) and digital video recorder.

The size of the new product is 5mm 5mm, 32 pin lead-free QFN package, meeting the ROHS standard of the European Union. The product is now in mass production.
