Walter Sangalli, vice president of global marketing of Maxim, said that the highly integrated analog products defined by Maxim integrate at least five important circuit functional blocks on the same chip to meet the lightweight trend of consumer electronic products.Walter quoted Morgan Stanley's report that smart phones and tablets will have a compound annual growth rate of 30% and 35% respectively from 2011 to 2014, and the number of market demand will continue to rise, making people in the industry optimistic about the development potential of highly integrated analog products.It is understood that since 2007, Maxim has strengthened the development of high integration solutions and actively expanded the proportion of high integration simulation products. In terms of Maxim's revenue of $4 billion last year, the revenue of highly integrated analog products has accounted for 34%, which is mainly used in products such as tablets and smartphones.

Walter said that in the future, Maxim will integrate more functions in the chip and provide a more complete solution in a limited space. Taking Maxim power system on a single chip (SOC) as an example, it saves 48% of the space compared with competitors, but can provide higher product efficiency, meeting the lightweight demands of smart phones.In the past, Maxim invested most of its R & D resources in developing single function chips and system solutions, but Maxim believes that the time is ripe to fully develop the high integration simulation market this year. In the future, Maxim will spare no effort to expand the development of high integration solutions and seize the mobile communication, automotive, industrial, medical and other markets with flexible production methods.
