Important Things to Consider Before Buying a Intelligent Parking System

Last year, I wrote an article about parking equipment for new applications in which I said that our system of specification, purchase and management accepts the status quo for whatever reason (see parking professionals issue of January 2015 ). Although I like the topic, there is a new article that makes me aware of how best to buy parking equipment from PARCs.

Important Things to Consider Before Buying a Intelligent Parking System 1

An intelligent parking guidance system offers an important advantage for drivers looking for a parking space. A dynamic display of available parking spaces shows the driver the fastest way to appropriate parking spaces. The infrastructure of a parking system that serves the needs of drivers is much better than the current systems.

Micro I / O has developed an intelligent parking system shown in Figure 4, which is suitable both for indoor use and outdoor use. The system is based on wireless magnetic sensors shown in figure 5 which are used in each parking area for occupancy detection on the ground. Parking systems, also known as red and green lights on the ceiling, are popular in airports, shopping malls and other high-volume underground car parks.

An intelligent parking system as illustrated in Figure 4, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, is compatible with multiple user platforms for management, driver guidance and available spaces and is interoperable with several complementary systems such as LED panels, tags, indicators, alarms, barriers, etc.

Static sensors indicate the parking spaces available for the intelligent parking guidance system. There are a few other factors that should be taken into account in parking guidance systems such as data transmission speed, life, accuracy and reliability.

Important Things to Consider Before Buying a Intelligent Parking System 2

Parking systems, also known as red and green lights on the ceiling, are popular at airports, shopping malls and other high-volume underground car parks. A counting system is an induction loop on the ground with ultrasonic sensors in the ceiling, which is inconspicuous for cars parked outside. As already mentioned, counting systems are a form of this induction loop.

Parking capacity or occupancy is a measurement of the number of parking spaces used which is measured with real-time data on how many are available at a given time and free. Parking space occupancy information is displayed in real time in a monitoring centre to ensure 24 / 7 functionality. The driver or user can book a parking space via the app, select his status and change the booking manually.

With intelligent parking, your customers can experience ultimate comfort, flexibility and transparency in their parking. Intelligent parking systems utilize a network of sensors and devices that work together to track activity in the garage — unlike traditional parking solutions —. Smart Parking provides drivers with information when they need to make a decision, and allows them to make informed choices about where to park, giving them time to reduce CO2 emissions and congestion.

Such systems use multiple media such as sensors, mobile algorithms and visual cameras. These systems are also connected to the Internet, enabling them to communicate with customers over the Internet and display valuable information.

Such systems are able to take into account aspects such as user preferences and the importance of finding free parking spaces for drivers. With the use of parking guidance systems (PGI) it is possible to enhance the scope and operation of parking and to increase its success and efficiency. Systems that provide users with information on parking facilities have been used in cities around the world for more than 20 years and are known as guided parking systems and dynamic parking guidance systems [5].

Intelligent parking facilities are connected to the Internet, so that interested parties can check the current availability of the garage and make reservations from their smartphones or computers. The use of number plate reading technology (LPR) and ticketing is also necessary, as intelligent parking systems know when a car is entering or exiting by scanning its number plate.

Sensors can be used for ground-level as well as multi-storey street parking. They can be installed in any car park, and the customer can obtain accurate information about certain free parking spaces, which allows for trouble-free parking.

At the entrance and exit of the parking lot, inductive loop detectors and visual cameras are used to determine the number of vehicles in the plot, which is displayed on a screen. Based on the number of vehicles entering and leaving, it helps to count the free parking spaces. Parking guidance systems and intelligent parking systems provide information on the number of spaces available on the screen, and when the screen is placed in a car park, the driver can see and decide whether the car park is occupied by 28 or 30 people.

As we look to the future of smart parking, we need to define what it means. For example, a car can signal when it enters a spot, allowing the driver to make informed parking decisions. When drivers know when to find a free parking place, when to stand right in front of their destination and when to start searching the entire system changes from chaotic to intelligent.

Intelligent parking systems lure customers into your store with automated parking systems, mobile apps and street sensors. They use technology to help motorists find and navigate a parking space. The role of parking in the decision of customers to visit your store is highlighted in Google reviews and features, and visitors are asked to mention your store whether or not the facility is in place.

This system, which has now become mainstream, works by using mechanical lifts to stack vehicles in available overhead space, allowing the use of a volume of space more efficiently than is possible with conventional parking systems. This ensures that more vehicles can occupy exactly the same parking space, even if they are stacked two or three times. The system is already being used in a development in West Hollywood, saving 7,000 square feet of prime real estate.
