1. Investigations of field camera

On May 22, the Norwegian Helsinki Committee and the Human Rights Centre of Georgia carried out an investigation on the attack. They found out, that the buses had directly come to the football field, rather than to the polling station.

Furthermore, media were already present at the scene, before the incident took place. Georgian security troops were immediately present at the scene of the incident, even though Khurcha lies within the demilitarised zone, the nearest base being 15 minutes away. The investigators further found out that the attack originated from a position only 100 meters from the Georgian side, that is, the side opposite to the ceasefire line.

Local eyewitnesses all stated, that they believed that the attack had been staged by the Georgian side. Another investigation was carried out by the Reporter studio in Tbilisi, which made a documentary about the incident. It stated directly, that the attack was staged by the Georgian side.

Before the busses were hit by grenades, the camera, that would record this, had been already positioned on a tripod and was already recording the buses. Local residents reported, that they had been asked to come to the football field for a video shoot, without voting being mentioned. The United Nations Observer Mission in Georgia's investigation into the incident found that the attackers were located on the Georgian side of the ceasefire line, about 100m from the buses, and that although hard evidence of the attackers' identities was lacking, inconsistencies merited further investigation, particularly the suggestion that the filming of the attack seemed anticipatory.

In October 2013, under the new government of Georgia, two former Georgian security officers, Roman Shamatava and Malkhaz Murgulia, were arrested on charges of terrorism and exceeding of official powers; prosecutors alleged the Khurcha attack was masterminded by the Georgian security agencies with the purpose of "terrorizing peaceful population on the election day". Murgulia was soon released on bail and Shamatava was acquitted of the charges of terrorism, but ruled that he "exceeded his official powers with use of arms and violence" in July 2014.

3. Emlie Polini of field camera

Emlie Adeline Polini, generally written as Emelie, (24 March 1881 31 July 1927) was an English stage actress with a considerable career in Australia. Polini was born in Steyning, Sussex, a daughter of theatrical manager Giovanni Marie Polini and his wife Harriet Frances, ne Billings.

Her acting career began in London, followed by work in companies touring in England and America. While on Broadway playing in Yes or No?, she was offered a contract with Australian firm J.

C. Williamson by their agent E. J.

Tait. In Australia she played Edward Clark's De Luxe Annie from April 1918 in Sydney and from July in Melbourne, where she married Lieutenant Ellis of the Royal Field Artillery, whom she had met on board the ship (he had been wounded in action and was on furlough). Her company next played Walter Hackett's The Invisible Foe then The Eyes of Youth.

In 1919 she triumphantly toured Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle and New Zealand with revivals of De Luxe Annie and The Eyes of Youth. She returned to Sydney in 1920 with Monckton Hoffe's The Little Damozel and Kindling, then again toured with revivals before retiring in September 1920 to start a family. She returned in 1922, starring in Edward Knoblock's My Lady's Dress with Frank Harvey, Henry Arthur Jones's The Lie, which toured to Adelaide and with revivals of her earlier successes in Perth and Hobart, followed in 1923 with a Sydney season of revivals and The Flaw, which she co-wrote with Doris Egerton Jones, and the farce French Leave, followed by another season of revivals in the other States.

She left in April 1924 for London to visit her sister Marie Polini and her husband Owen Nares, both actors. She again appeared on stage in England and America, where she died, never having returned to Australia.

5. Career of field camera

Van der Meer was born in Noordhorn.

In 1945, he founded the semi-professional choir Groningse Bachvereniging and conducted the group until 1984. During the first 25 years they performed music from Renaissance to contemporary, but concentrated on the Baroque era in the early 1970s. Van der Meer introduced Nikolaus Harnoncourt in the Netherlands in 1970.

The regular orchestra, the Noordelijk Filharmonisch Orkest, was not available for a performance of Bach's Magnificat, instead van der Meer could work with Harnoncourt's Concentus Musicus Wien. Van der Meer focused on period instruments, all male voices for the soloists, musical rhetoric and dramatic declamation. In 1973 he conducted the Groningse Bachvereniging in the first historically informed performance in the Netherlands of Bach's St Matthew Passion.

The Evangelist was Marius van Altena, the vox Christi was Max van Egmond, the other soloists were three boys of the Tlzer Knabenchor, Ren Jacobs, Harry Geraerts, Michiel ten Houte de Lange, Frits van Erven Dorens and Harry van der Kamp. Ton Koopman and Bob van Asperen played the organs. The performance was recorded live.

The concert was successful and established van der Meer's position in Early Music. In 1974, he conducted Bach's Christmas Oratorio with Musica Antiqua Amsterdam, the first Baroque orchestra of Ton Koopman. In 1975, he conducted and recorded Bach's Mass in B minor at the Holland Festival, the orchestra was La Petite Bande with concert master Sigiswald Kuijken).

In 1979 he conducted Bach's St John Passion in Groningen. He also recorded vocal works by composers such as Heinrich Schtz, Josquin Desprez, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and George Frideric Handel. He died in Achim.
