How does one fight parking tickets from Italy?

We went to Italy in March 2015 , the hotel advised us on how/where to park. We parked in what we thought was a legal spot. The next morning we found the parking ticket - it was a taxi area but no signs were posted. The hotel said that happens all the time. They said they would talk to the municipality for us. on our last day we inquired the status and of course they did nothing. so when we went to return the rental car they said they have nothing to do with paying the ticket - that was between us and the police well we were at the airport so what can you do then and don t speak Italian. What the parking ticket is $289 Euro s YIKES

If the court canceled the warrant after payment (you have to pay the fines first), then it should be gone....BUT bureaucracies may miss that part. Check it after payment is made after a couple of weeks. If not, take your proof of payment to the court clerk.

If it's registered in your name and can not prove someone else was driving the vehicle. Otherwise you are only responsible for seeing that the dealership gets their money

Argue that the ticket violates the presumption of innocence. If you lose in traffic court; sue the city. When you are brought before a court, is it the prosecution's burden to prove it was you.

Why does handicapp people in new york have to pay parking tickets when they show they have a blue tag?

That really sucks! The judge should have let it go since you did have the tag. Even on the appeal!! I am surprised with their decision. I can understand getting the ticket because the tag fell but you did prove it. The judge may have thought someone else might have used your car and tried to get out of the ticket. There are no other resources for you to use, you will just have to pay the ticket and make sure the placard is in place next time

You are really splitting hairs here and most likely it will not work. Regardless of how they describe your vehicle, they recorded your license plate correctly. Red vs. Maroon? Come on. My dark blue car looks black at night. "PASS" only for NY vehicles? If it primarily carries passengers it is, by definition, a passenger vehicle. Your only other option would be to wait for an "amnesty" period and even then they only waive the late fees and any accumulated interest
