Project Description

Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) is one of Malaysia’s most iconic landmarks and a world-renowned commercial and entertainment hub. The parking facilities at KLCC accommodate over 19,000 parking spaces spread across four levels, serving thousands of vehicles daily.

To improve traffic efficiency and create a seamless parking experience, KLCC adopted an advanced License Plate Recognition (LPR) parking system integrated with self-service payment machines. The system manages both season users and temporary visitors through a ticketless and cashless parking model, enabling fast and efficient vehicle flow even during rush hours when 50–60 vehicles pass per minute.

Our company provided the core LPR technology and equipment, while our local partner in Kuala Lumpur managed installation and long-term maintenance.

Project Requirements

The KLCC management team needed a smart parking solution capable of:

  1. Managing over 19,000 parking spacesacross multiple levels.
  2. Supporting high traffic throughputduring morning and evening peak hours.
  3. Providing ticketless and cashless parking operationsfor both season and temporary users.
  4. Integrating automatic number plate recognitionwith Touch&Go card verification for season users.
  5. Ensuring fast and accurate access controland convenient self-payment options for visitors.

Solutions We Provide for Customers

To meet KLCC’s large-scale and high-traffic requirements, our team delivered a comprehensive and fully automated parking management solution, including both hardware and system integration:

  • Advanced LPR System Integration
  •  Installed license plate recognition cameras at each entrance and exit (four total entrances, each with ten lanes).
  • Each LPR unit captures vehicle plates and transmits the data to the central management server in real time.
  • The results are immediately displayed on the screen and linked to the barrier gate control system for instant entry and exit authorization.
  • Dual Access for Season Users
  •  Season users enter and exit through dedicated lanes equipped with LPR cameras and Touch&Go card readers.
  • Both plate and card data are verified simultaneously for precise, secure access control.
  • Efficient Management for Temporary Users
  • Temporary vehicles use the same LPR lanes for entry.
  • Upon exit, drivers can complete payment via self-service payment machines located in elevator halls.
  • The system allows up to 20 minutes of grace period after payment to exit the facility.
  • Centralized Management Platform
  •  The system integrates servers, cameras, displays, and barrier gates for unified control.
  • Parking data such as entry time, duration, and payment status are automatically recorded and monitored.
  • Administrators can generate detailed reports for operational analysis and optimization.
